Science for Health
It is the MRC’s policy to negotiate the terms and conditions of service for its staff within unions or staff associations it has recognised for the purpose; changes to terms and conditions of service are agreed collectively and then incorporated directly into individual contracts. It is also MRC policy to consult these organisations about any conditions of service of the staff and this is carried out most effectively when a high proportion of staff belong top the organisations recognised by the MRC as appropriate to their interests. Those trade unions currently recognised are:
Most recognised unions have agreement with the Council whereby members of those unions pay union subscriptions by deductions from pay (known as ‘check-off’). Your local union representative will give you a form to sign if your union has such an agreement.
