Science for Health
2011 was the ninth year of the NIMR Human Biology Essay Competition.
Essays were judged anonymously in three rounds; the first two by members of NIMR with the two best of each group going into the next round; the final round involved four of our staff and two teachers from local schools. The criteria for choosing winners were based on a combination of quality of information and writing style.
The finalists wrote to a high standard but we believe all the essays were a great credit to their authors. Most had a sound structure, a logical narrative and a clear focus. It provided once again a great opportunity for participants to do their own thing with a great diversity of styles and approaches.
