Future expansion
We continually maintain and upgrade existing equipment and evaluate new techniques that, if proven useful, are integrated within the lab. We are in the process of upgrading:
- Leica confocal SP1 - laser configuration
- Perkin Elmer Ultraview microscope – Z stage and Hamamatsu camera upgrade plus installation of the Volocity acquisition software
We are working towards setting up a multichannel TIRF system based on an Olympus IX 81 microscope, and are also following current developments in:
- Super-resolution Microscopy – STORM and PALM technology
- OMX microscope
- High throughput fluorescence screening
