Freezer Archive
The Mellanby Freezer Archive is a purpose-designed facility for the long-term, secure storage of frozen research material.
At the moment we are responsible for housing sixty -20°C and -80°C freezers containing around half a million samples belonging to NIMR, the MRC's Prion and Clinical Trials Units and researchers as far away as the SPHSU in Glasgow. In addition we have space available in our liquid nitrogen cryostore for both liquid and vapor phase sample archiving.
