Nuffield Research Placements
Outcomes and benefits
Nuffield Research Placements at NIMR provides an almost unique opportunity for Year 12 students to participate in research, and introduces a new dimension to school science education. Students acquire and develop skills in the practical aspects of research, and also in the personal attributes essential for a scientific career. Some of the outcomes are listed below.

- collect reliable data and evaluate its usefulness

- talk about their research with discerning colleagues

The projects which students undertake reach very high standards, and can provide students with an advantage at a university selection panel.
