UKCMRI has set up an on-site exhibition for 2010 on the site at Brill Place, NW1 1HG (behind the British Library). It is open from June 24th on:
The latest designs and plans for the building will be on display and UKCMRI staff will be on hand to answer questions.
In tandem with the exhibition, UKCMRI has teamed up with the London Wildlife Trust to create temporary raised allotments on the Brill Place site until December 2010.
UKCMRI has been founded by four of the UK's largest and most successful scientific and academic institutions: the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, the Wellcome Trust and University College London. It will carry out research of the highest quality using the latest technology to advance understanding of human health and disease. The project represents a substantial investment from charity and public funders in the future growth of one of the UK's leading sectors. UKCMRI will initially build on the complementary skills and research interests of the MRC National Institute for Medical Research and the CRUK London Research Institute together with scientists from University College London focusing on physics, computing, engineering, imaging and chemistry.
