Crick scientists meet to discuss work and future

03 October 2011

More than 150 scientists and senior managers involved in the project to create the Francis Crick Institute met to hear more about the science being conducted at the founding institutes and university partners.

Scientists from NIMR met with their colleagues from CRUK London Research Institute and from University College London, Kings College, and Imperial College at the end of September. Over the course of the two-day meeting the audience heard from Crick Director, Paul Nurse, about the process of creating the Institute and the importance of collaboration and discussion, and from a number of researchers in the Institutes and University partners who spoke about their science.

Scientists from the two founding institutes and from UCL, King's and Imperial had a great time at the retreat and made good use of the opportunity to become familiar with each other's work. Everyone is looking forward to more interactions and to focusing on areas such as innovation, translation, and clinical collaborations.
