14 December 2012
Researchers at NIMR and UCL have used mathematical modelling to show how a network of genes can produce either spatial patterns or oscillations in developing tissues. The research is published in Journal of the Royal Society Interface.
11 December 2012
We are now accepting applications for Sandwich placements for 2013-14. The closing date is Friday 25 January 2013, at 12:00 GMT.
11 December 2012
NIMR researchers, working with Manuel Serrano from CNIO (Madrid), have found that the tumor suppressor p27 contributes to transcriptional repression of the “stemness” transcription factor SOX2. The research is published in Cell Stem Cell.
05 December 2012
Scientists at NIMR and in Ibadan, Nigeria have shown that an accurate definition of the major childhood malaria syndromes can be achieved using plasma proteome-patterns. The research is published in PLOS ONE.
23 November 2012
Tony Barrett died on 7 October 2012, aged 73. He worked in NIMR's Computer Laboratory for 12 years, specialising in the mathematical analysis of biological research problems.
23 November 2012
NIMR researchers have shown that active Wingless is secreted on exosomes in Drosophila S2 cells, but exosomes do not contribute to Wingless gradient formation in wing imaginal discs. The research is published in Traffic.
14 November 2012
Two new programme leaders track who joined the Institute in 2012 describe their new research programmes.
13 November 2012
NIMR scientists have collaborated in a major genomic survey of malaria parasites. The research is published in PLOS Genetics.
11 November 2012
Scientists at NIMR have dissected a molecular mechanism used to regulate the tumor suppressor let-7 microRNA. The research is published in Nature Structural & Molecular Biology.
08 November 2012
NIMR scientists have shown that the genome organizer SATB1 has a key role in the development of cortical interneurons. The research is published in Cell Reports.
