- This Web site accompanies a film broadcast by the US Public Broadcasting Service about the influenza outbreak in the United States in 1918, the so-called "Spanish flu". The site contains a full transcript of the film and transcripts of interviews with the programme's participants. The interviews are also available as audio files. In addition, the site also has sections on the effects of the flu on three cities (Boston, San Francisco and Philadelphia), some information about famous victims of the flu and a letter from a doctor stationed at a military camp in Boston. There is also a timeline, outlining events month by month and a map and graph detailing the spread of the virus. The site also features some interviews and facts relating to more recent and possible future flu outbreaks. This Web site is primarily aimed at a general audience and school children. To listen to the audio files it is necessary to have the Realplayer plugin installed.
